Hughes Elementary was buzzing with curiosity and discovery this week, as our students took center stage for this year’s annual Science Fair. From learning about the scientific method to older students tackling complex environmental questions, the sheer variety of projects on display was nothing short of inspiring. Visitors were treated to a masterclass in rigorous hypothesis testing, where students didn't just build models, but asked big questions, isolated variables, conducted meticulous trials, and analyzed their data like seasoned pros. The room was filled with creative experiments and real-world problem-solving! Our young innovators proved that you are never too young to make a meaningful impact on the world around you.
An event of this scale doesn't happen in a vacuum, and a massive thank you goes out to our incredible Hughes Elementary teachers and staff for guiding these students, as well as to the parents and families who supported countless hours of tracking data and gathering supplies at home. Most importantly, congratulations to our brilliant student scientists. Your hard work, resilience when experiments didn't go as planned, and enthusiastic presentations absolutely blew us away. Way to go, Raiders! #UticaUnited
