The Utica community came out in droves to honor beloved former basketball Coach Norman
Stamboly for a special event during the JV and Varsity home opener games. Basketball was
Coach Stamboly’s passion, and he cared for his players on and off the court. The gymnasium
was filled with players who graduated from Proctor and played under Stamboly during his
illustrious career. His family was present for the recognition ceremony, where his two decades of
work in the Proctor Basketball program were memorialized following his passing this summer.
Coach Stamboly’s love of the game lives on in the program, and the energy of the evening was
a testament to his dedication.
