To Our Utica City School District Community,
I want to make you aware of a situation that has been receiving media attention and share what we know at this time.
The District received a complaint involving inappropriate conduct by a district employee and took immediate action, placing the employee on administrative leave on January 30, 2026, where he remains. The matter was promptly reported to law enforcement, and we have been fully cooperating with the investigation. An arrest has since been made in connection with this case.
I want to be clear, concerns of this nature are taken seriously, and we act on them immediately when they are brought forward. From the moment this was reported, our focus has been on responding appropriately, supporting the investigation, and ensuring the situation was handled with urgency and care.
We understand that news like this is unsettling. Please know that the safety of our students and staff remains at the center of every decision we make. We will continue to work closely with law enforcement as this process moves forward.
