A First Worth Celebrating: Ann Marie Palladino at Proctor High

October is National Principals Month, and we're proud to honor a true trailblazer, Ann Marie Palladino, the first woman to serve as Principal of Proctor High School. Her journey from teacher in 1992 to administrator in 2005, and now her 33rd year in the district reflects decades of dedication, leadership and impact. With 20 years at Donovan Middle School, including 15 as principal, Palladino has built a legacy of commitment to students, families and the community.

Principal Palladino has the support of assistant principals: Ken Szczesniak, MaryBeth Pedulla, Alicia Mroz, Tammy Sharpe and Brandy Cubino. Together, they are shaping an inclusive school culture where every student is encouraged to thrive. What makes this team especially inspiring is that four of the five assistant principals are women. This dynamic embodies the strength, representation and innovation women bring to education.

Principal Palladino is truly a Utica Gem and proof that possibilities are limitless when passion meets purpose. Her groundbreaking role isn't just a milestone for Proctor, it's a powerful reminder to students everywhere, especially young women, that they, too can lead, innovate and inspire the future.
